We do not need magic to change the world - The story about a hackathon-born project to fight COVID-19.
Let's curb the virus together! That was our motto when we started our project - BoxMeo - during the #EUvsVirus hackathon. The purpose was to develop ideas which help to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. But which solution would be worldwide more applicable than ensuring a hygienic usage for facemasks? Facemasks became a critical part in our everyday life, with more than 95% of the world's population requiring wearing facemasks.
With BoxMeo we worked on exactly that solution to ensure a hygienic usage of the facemask with the possibility to disinfect it by using solar energy. In doing so we want to provide a hygienic and sustainable method to inactivate COVID-19. But not only that - our goal is to deliver aid rapidly and unbureaucratically to people affected by the coronavirus pandemic worldwide. We live to give. About Me:
My purpose is to embrace entrepreneurship to positively impact billions of people. As said by Winston Churchill “never waste a good crisis” I took the opportunity to engage in entrepreneurial activities during the lockdown of COVID-19. After 6 exciting months, we officially opened the company BoxMeo. Within my M.Sc. degree, I learned about the hardships of entrepreneurship by researching entrepreneurial failure reasons. Nevertheless, I am a strong believer of one entrepreneurial theory - the theory of trying. You will only fail once you have stopped to try. I am grateful for having the opportunity to pursue my purpose and work on solutions that have a positive and valuable impact on our society.
